Livia Regen, MSc
Biography
Livia Regen is a PhD student and project researcher in the context of INNORES, which explores the innovation paradigm through the lens of unintended, unwanted and un-cared for residues. Livia Regen aims to enquire specifically into citizens’ imaginaries of social-ecological futures beyond innovation-driven, residue-filled presences. She is interested in common senses around innovation that are destructive in social-ecological terms, and the possibility of reimagining modes of problem-solving in times of multiple crises.
Previously, Livia Regen has researched knowledge practices in urban energy transitions at the Institute of Technology Assessment (Austrian Academy of Sciences), and has studied lobbying practices in the context of the European Green Deal at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Besides, she has co-authored a chapter in the ‘APCC Special Report 22: Structures for Climate Friendly Living’ (2023) and is one of the main editors of ‘Degrowth & Strategy: how to bring about social-ecological transformation’ (2022).
She has a background in Ecological Economics, Linguistics, Cultural Theory and Environmental Sciences. Her master’s in Social-Ecological Economics and Policy was completed in 2021 at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, and during her bachelor’s, she studied at the University of Vienna, the Vienna University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, and Goldsmiths College (University of London).
