We warmly invite you to our workshop "STS: Skills, Career Trajectories and Stories" on career orientation and professional opportunities for STS graduates, taking place on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Institute for Advances Studies (IHS) Vienna.
The workshop presents an opportunity for current students and recent graduates in STS and related fields to learn about the diverse areas and types of work where their knowledge and skills might be applied. Former STS students now working in science communication, public administration, applied research, and other fields within and beyond academia will share their professional experiences and stories in a “living books” format, providing room for individual questions and in-depth discussion.
We are also happy to announce that Jessica Mesman (Maastricht University), the long-standing coordinator of the European Inter-University Association on Society, Science and Technology (ESST) and its international joint master’s program, will start off discussions with a keynote sharing her perspective on the career opportunities of STS graduates.
Program:
09:30 – 10:45 Keynote Jessica Mesman, Maastricht University
10:45 – 11:15 Coffee Break
11:15 – 13:00 Uhr: „Living Books“ roundtable discussions with STS graduates:
